Based upon the spiritual reality described by Jesus in Luke 11, winning Iraq for Democracy was doomed to failure before it began. Democracy is an empty house. It is utterly dependent on a majority of it’s citizens subjecting themselves to a higher heavenly authority. That is why it will not last much longer in the United States, and certainly had no hope in Iraq.

 

Especially in the Middle East, the fervent passion of radical Islam will move in and conquer where anything less tries to govern. It is even making inroads into Europe where God has removed the lamp-stands of lukewarm churches, and thus left the land open to the strongest remaining spirits.

 

In the US, we have elected God out of our public life. This was the result of Him being neglected in our private lives first.

 

Now, as a fruit of that, we see sexual immorality of all kinds, even homosexuality, becoming increasingly brazen and bold, as the message of “Christianity” becomes more and more self centered and “consumer-friendly”. Satan does not really care whether men are bound by open carnality or false religion, just as long as they do not call on the name of the Lord for deliverance.

 

In spite of all this, God is not worried. His Kingdom is not a Democracy, and the majority does not rule there. He does!As in Bible days, He does not require vast armies to win victories. In fact, He prefers the odds to be stacked against Him so that He might display His glory and power. There is no political system on earth that can prevent a Christian from declaring His truth at least once.

 

His weapons are people who have His Word as their testimony, and who love not their lives unto death. They simply speak the Truth in love, despite it’s cost to them personally. Unlike the radical Moslems who strap bombs to themselves to obliterate their enemies in vengeance, these “arrows in the hands of a Warrior”, have His Words inscribed on their hearts and they will pierce the hearts of God’s enemies with His mercy.
