Cursed is the Man Who Trusts in Man

“Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD.” Jeremiah 17:5

If we as a nation have put our trust in the strength of our military, or if we Christians have put their hope in whoever holds political office, we are cursed. The pleasure of the Lord is far from us, for His delight is in those who fear and revere His name, and His name ALONE.

“It’s not by might, it’s not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord.”

His way is the way of the cross. He does menial labor even for those who despise Him. He endures mockery from the self-righteous. He offers His body (which is now us dear people) to be beaten by the unrighteous. Ultimately He lays down His life for them, so that they might be free from the tyranny of sin.

If we have become His disciples, then He leads us to witness His own death (which is a death to our hopes and dreams also), so that we might receive within us His own Spirit, and thus be witnesses of His resurrection life in the earth.

If we try to enter His Kingdom by any other way, we are thieves and robbers and we have no part in Him.
